Search Engine Optimization (SEO)And Page Rank LessonsThe Complete Guide
Let"s clear a few things up before we start:
That being said you should focus on page rank and good search engine optimization. Everything will change after the next big Google update anyway. Lesson 6 "What is the Google Sand Box and how do I beat it!"There are different theories about the Google Sandbox effect. Webmasters began to say that their new optimized websites, full of inbound links, were not getting good page rank for their keywords. A common scenario that was that after being listed in the search engine results pages for a couple of weeks, pages seemed to dropped from the index or ranked extremely low for optimized keywords. This pattern followed websites that created and registered approximately March 2004. All websites created around or after March 2004 seemed to have the Sandbox effect. Some sites escaped it completely. A broad scale of webmasters had to deal with their websites ranking poorly for well optimized key words. A conspiracy theorie codenamed Allegra grew out of the February 2005 update, Then webmasters began seeing vastly fluctuating results and fortunes. Top SEO ranked websites lost their high ranking positions Previously low ranking websites gained ground and ranked close to the top for their keywords. This was a major update to Google's search engine algorithm and allowed SEO experts to better understand what the Sandbox effect was about. This event gave evidence of the existence of a Google Sandbox. Possible Explenations For The Google SandBox EffectOne explanation offered for the Google Sandbox effect is a Time Delay factor. This theory suggests that, after a period of time Google releases websites from the Sandbox . Many webmasters started see the effects of the Sandbox around March 2004. Many of those websites were released in the Allegra update. The website aging theory is a popular theory. I can not agree with the Time Delay factor because it is just an artificially imposed penalty. It does not improve relevancy. Google is the leader of the search engine industry and is continuously making strides to improve relevancy in search results, the time delay factor does not fit in with what we know about Google. There is evidence that some websites created before March 2004 were still not released from the Google Sandbox, and some websites created as late as July 2004 escaped the Google Sandbox effect during the Allegra' update. This shatters the Time Delay' theory and raises some questions. This evidence suggests a link threshold theory. A website is released from the Sandbox once it has accumulated a certain amount of quantity/quality inbound links. This is closes to the truth, but not all there is to it. Link popularity is definitely a factor in determining when a website is released from the Sandbox but there is more to it. We have limited data to analyze link buliding. It seems that a large amount of one way links related to your content will keep you out of the sandbox. If you have don't have enough quality related inbound links after one year you will not be able to escape from the Google Sandbox. You can look around popular SEO forums to see hundreds of threads discussing various results. Some websites were launched in July 2004 and escaped by December 2004. Others were still stuck in the Sandbox after the Allegra update. Is Your Website Is SandboxedFinding out if your website is Sandboxed' is quite simple. If your website does not have a top rank in any search engines for your target list of keywords andyou have lots of inbound links with good on page optimization, then your website has been Sandboxed. The Google Sandbox theory may distract webmasters from top SEO rank practices and push them towards black hat or techniques to exploit the search engine's weaknesses. This approach is short sighted. Let's discuss search engine theory. Search Engine TheoryIf you want have Top SEO Rank, you need to understand what search engines are trying to do. Search engines want to present the most relevant information to their users. People use inaccurate search terms and there is a glut of information on the Internet. To deal with this problem, search engines have developed complex algorithms to find relevancy of content for search terms. How does this help us? Well, as long as you have targeted, quality content that is relevant to the subject of your website and acquire one way inbound links from related websites, you will get a top search engine rank for your key words. It sounds simple doesn't it? It is that simple. Search engine algorithms are evolving and they will continue to do their jobs better. Filtering out trash and presenting the most relevant content to the search of their users. While each search engine will have different methods of determining search engine placement. Google values oneway inbound links. Yahoo has placed value on title tags, domain names and links. Every search engine try to achieve the same goal. If you fulfill that goal you will always achieve a top SEO rank. Escape The SandboxThe Google Sandbox is a filter for the search engine's algorithm. It is a dampening influence on websites. Many SEO experts will say that this effect decreases after a certain period of time. They think that is due to website aging or due to the time the website was first spidered by Googlebot. The Sandbox can hold back new websites but the effects reduce over time not because of website aging, but because of the quality of links aquired over time. The amount of time that you spend in the Google Sandbox is linked to when you start acquiring quality links for your website. If you do nothing, and never get quality links your website, you may never get released from the Google Sandbox. Keep up a low intensity, long term link building plan. Keep adding inbound links to your website slowly over time on a uniform steady basis. That will get you out of the Google Sandbox. Probably with in six month. The filter will stop having such a massive effect on your website. The Allegra update showed that websites that were constantly being optimized during the time that they were in the Sandbox moved out of the Sandbox and started to rank quite high for targeted keywords.
